Little Grand Canyon Discussion Starters

This week, I decided to flip the order of the Discussion Starters and Ask Dr. Rhonda. I will write Ask Dr. Rhonda based on questions I am asked on the floor of the Galveston ACSI convention. Look for that post on Friday.
Classroom Starters:
What are the different types of rocks and how long does it take each type to form?
For the older student: Does the fossil record indicate whether the rock strata of Grand Canyon are young or old? How can you be sure?
Dinner Table Starters:
Read 2 Peter 3:5-6. Discuss what you think the verse means.
For the older student: How would you explain your viewpoint on the Flood that is described in Genesis 6-9?
